The UA Herbarium welcomes donations of any size. Here are some examples of how your kindness could provide impact:
-
$75 buys 100 sheets of archival specimen paper.
We use 2000 - 4000 every year, to keep up with the active collector community in our region.
-
$1,000 provides funds to support our annual IT fees.
These fees are associated with making images available through SEINet.
-
$6,000 provides a paid assistantship for a student.
Our student assistants, upon whom we deeply depend, come to us from a variety of biology majors. After graduation, they enter the workforce in natural history museums, take positions involving biodiversity assessment, or join graduate programs, for example. We are very proud of our student assistants!
-
Sustained support through building an endowment.
We are working towards an endowment that could produce substantial financial independence. Our goal is an ambitious amount, enough that would provide about $100k in annual income. We are about 14% there (as of 8/31/2024). Please talk to us if you might be able to help us towards this goal.
Gifts at any level help protect the collections, all they stand for, and all they do for the people of Arizona. Please consider Giving Today if you can help us weather the financial storms at UA, and contact us with any questions or ideas.
