The persistent, exploiter-dominated fig wasp community associated with an isolated rock fig tree (Ficus petiolaris)
Molly will be talking about data she has collected from a rock fig tree here on U of A campus, planted near the main library. The tree is beyond its native range of Sonora and Baja California, but it is home to at least 4 species of fig wasps known to be associated with the species. For the past few years, she has been sampling figs from the tree to determine which wasp species inhabit the tree and how persistent the wasp populations are.
